This case is in remarkably good condition. It is sitting somewhere relatively deep in the Heian Maru.

The cargo holds of the Hoki Maru have a bunch of heavy machinery such as this steam roller. These were probably meant to be unloaded on shore to help fortify the islands in the lagoon for an impending attack.
